GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under close supervision, performs entry-level duties as assigned in the installation, modification, preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment or machinery used in the Minting operation.
*Maintenance Technician I may advance to the higher tech level after gained experience and demonstrated abilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Inspect, diagnose and repair faulty production machinery using a variety of hand tools, power tools and voltage meters.
2. light troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
3. Follow plans/blueprints to verify material components and specifications of machinery for setup or repair.
4. Perform general plant maintenance including building, lighting and plumbing.
5. Setup machinery tooling and make any necessary adjustments for product changeovers
6. Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, hand trucks and forklift.
7. Must be able to learn and use a CMMS system in the aid of daily work order requests, charge parts and failure tracking.
8. Perform weekly, monthly, yearly preventative maintenance on all machinery according to a CMMS schedule.
9. Escalate all repeat failures and non-basic maintenance issues in timely manner to assigned lead or Maintenance Supervisor.
10. Perform general housekeeping and cleanup sometimes to the aid of higher-level techs.
11. Ability to be read, write and communicate effectively and understand basic math.
12. Ability to demonstrate predictable, reliable and timely attendance.
13. Ability to work as part of a team; interact appropriately with others.

Work Environment:
The work environment is of moderate temperature and moderately loud noise level; hearing protection is required while working on the manufacturing floor. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
As a Maintenance Technician, an employee will work in a cool to extremely hot environment, dependent upon project, outdoor work may be performed. There is exposure to fuels, oils, cleaning solvents and fumes from machinery. Safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the Maintenance area and while working on machinery. The noise level in the work environment varies depending upon project, hearing protection is required. Additional safety equipment may be required.
